Welcome to HS Canine Hydrotherapy!

Award Winning Hydrotherapy Centre & Featured on Crufts 2025 (Sienna's Story)

HS Canine Hydrotherapy is a established, independent centre operated by the former Top Dog Hydrotherapy team. We proudly help dogs and other animals across  Hampshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, and Oxfordshire, including towns and villages such as Andover, Salisbury, Newbury, Basingstoke, Amesbury, Marlborough, Swindon, Oxford, Reading, Hungerford, Thatcham and Winchester. Some of our furthest customers come from the New Forest area as well as Southampton and Portsmouth.

At HS Canine Hydrotherapy, we believe every animal deserves the chance to move, heal, and thrive. What began as a small but passionate venture under the name Top Dog Canine Hydrotherapy has grown into a nationally recognised centre of excellence now proudly operating as HS Canine Hydrotherapy. At HS Canine Hydrotherapy we have the newest model of the Hydro Physio Under Water Treadmill featuring the addition of the incline.

Our journey has been shaped by incredible milestones, most notably our feature on Crufts 2025, where Sienna’s Story touched hearts across the UK. Sienna’s progress was made possible not only by our tailored care with us but also by the unwavering dedication of her owner, whose commitment played a vital role in her inspiring rehabilitation.

In 2025, our commitment to canine rehabilitation has been recognised with several major awards:

  • Winner – Veterinary Rehab Clinic of the Year, Regional Business Awards 2025

  • Award of Excellence 2025 – Canine Hydrotherapy Centre

  • Highly Commended – Young Business Person of the Year, Test Valley Business Awards 2025

Sienna’s Owner’s Testimonial & Comments

Sienna experienced an unfortunate and unexpected injury. As a dog walker, she accompanied me on all of my daily routes. During one of these walks, she collided with a much larger dog, resulting in paralysis of her left hind limb. I carried her to a nearby farm so we could transport her to the veterinary clinic. She was then referred to a specialist, where an MRI revealed a build up of mucus and fluid compressing her spinal cord, necessitating immediate spinal surgery.

Following surgery, Sienna remained hospitalised for several days before being discharged. She returned home still paralysed, and I undertook intensive rehabilitation with her. After two weeks, she managed her first unaided steps. Shortly after, the veterinary team approved her to begin hydrotherapy.

This is when we first met Harvey. From the outset, his professionalism, expertise, and compassion were evident. He invested considerable time and effort into Sienna’s recovery, pushing her appropriately while always ensuring her comfort and safety. I felt completely confident entrusting her care to him, knowing he was fully committed to achieving the best possible outcome for her.

Today, Sienna has regained approximately 99% of her normal function an outcome that once felt unimaginable. Harvey continues to treat her weekly, and I truly believe that without his dedication and skill, she would not be the dog she is today.

Despite the name, we treat cats too!

NOODLES.jpeg

At HS Canine Hydrotherapy, it’s not just dogs that come through our doors. We also welcome our feline friends.

Meet Noodles, our lovely cat who’s currently coming to see us for possible osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is a condition where the joints gradually become stiff and uncomfortable as the protective cartilage wears down. Gentle, controlled movement like hydrotherapy in an underwater treadmill can help support mobility and comfort, even for cats.

Harvey and Cody have years of experience working in a cattery and absolutely love having cats in the centre. We understand that cats need a more calm, patient, and understanding approach and that’s exactly what they get here.

Because rehab isn’t just for dogs!

Monty

Monty (Labrador X Spaniel)

Patella luxation LH and Hip extension pain

"Harvey and the team, have been invaluable to Monty's progression! He started with muscle loss after an injury, and he is now balanced! Harvey treats Monty as if he was his own and it shows! Monty bolts in with excitement, and absolutely loves being there! Harvey has been incredible at knowing when is the right time to push Monty, and what he needs to progress, time and care is taken, treats are given and cuddles are had! I would not have gone anywhere else for Monty's treatment! He loves them and the progress he has made in the 12 weeks has been phenomenal and a testament to Harvey's knowledge and understand of what Monty needs!"
Nala

Nala (German Shepherd Dog)

Hindlimb Lameness

"Nala our 9 year old German Shepherd sees Harvey every fortnight (started at weekly). She managed to pull her leg last year and would not weight bear.

We saw an improvement almost straight away with Harvey, whilst she seemed to be walking fine we could see when in the treadmill that actually she was compensating. Over the last 10/14 sessions we have seen a vast improvement and Harvey is now able to reduce water height and increase speed, as well as time. Nala is certainly happier and more confident in herself and she is reaping the benefits!

The service we get from Harvey (and all the support team) has been outstanding. They all truly care for the dogs and spend time getting to know them. This is not our first time at hydrotherapy with our dogs however its certainly the first time I have seen such massive improvements. I would wholeheartedly recommend Harvey to anyone whether its for fitness, weight loss or an injury. I know that Nala is in the very best of hands."
Delta

Delta (German Shepherd)

TPLO Bilaterally

Working with Harvey, Cody and the team has simply been life changing for my GSD Delta. His first session was full of anxiety and clear discomfort as began his first steps on the underwater treadmill, but Harvey’s guidance, patience and love for helping animals has worked utter wonders. We’ve seen an increase in stability and muscle mass, and all the post-surgery weight has disappeared!
Delta now cries for Harvey whenever we’re near to hydrotherapy, and Harvey gets a 40kg German Shepherd bundle of fluff launching into the treadmill on every session. Delta loves Harvey to pieces. I don’t think I’ll never stop taking him to this team they just work miracles. I couldn’t recommend Harvey and the team more to any other dog owners.
Dash & Mollie

Dash and Mollie (Border Collie)

Arthritic RH and Fitness

We can’t thank Harvey at H.S. Canine Hydrotherapy enough for the incredible transformation in our two dogs, Dash and Mollie. Dash, our 7 year old Border Collie with severe arthritis, could barely stand up after a walk; now he moves with ease and can run again with me which is his biggest love. Mollie, who is a very nervous rescue dog who had never seen water or swam in her life now has massive confidence in the water. Her fitness was non existent and now she swims nearly the whole session and can canicross up to 8 miles with ease. Harvey’s expertise, patience, and genuine care shine through in every session. I would highly recommend Harvey to any dog owner he truly works wonders!
